Do I need a web hosting account ?
The short answer is, If you want to have a website, then yes. Using a web hosting account is the only way for your personal or small business website to be published and viewed on the internet.

Is there really any difference between which web host I choose ?
Basically, most web hosts provide the same service with some minor differences. These minor differences can be ignored by 90% of inexperienced or first time web hosters. The other difference is how well or poorly a particular web hosts customer service and technical support department works with you to resolve billing and technical issues.

Are there any hidden fees that I should be aware of ?
There are no hidden fees that we're aware of. You should, however, be aware that most web hosts charge for additional services (sometimes called add-on's) such as Microsoft SQL Server, one-on-one website design (not using an automated website builder), etc. However, in our experience, 90% of new websites will not require any add-on's.

Should I signup for the shortest term or the longest ?
That's more of a personal choice. Either way all the web hosts we evaluated have a 30-day moneyback guarantee. However, the longer the term 12-24 months versus 6 months, the more money clients tend to save. Web hosts offer hugely discounted rates for longer terms and we encourage that.

Is a 30-day Moneyback Guarantee really honored ?
Yes, all the web hosts we evaluated have consistently honored their 30-day Moneyback Guarantee. That's not to say that if you choose a web host that was not evaluated by us that you may end up with a bad experience.

I'm new to all this and don't know how to design a website.
Don't worry, you're not alone. Luckily, all the hosts we evaluated include a website builder free of charge to help you get started. Most website builders are web-based so you use your web browser. You are provided a username and password to login. Then, the rest is point and click choosing a theme, text, pictures, etc.
